Guidelines for Interconnection Agreements
The UTC adopted an interpretive and policy statement, Docket UT-990355, Nov. 30, 1999, that establishes guidelines for local exchange companies to use in negotiating interconnection agreements that combine arrangements from more than one existing agreement. The Federal Communications Commission allows companies to "pick and choose" provisions from multiple agreements. The interpretive and policy statement was further revised on April 12, 2000.
The UTC issued a 
request for comments on whether to convert the guidelines into agency rules. A workshop was held on Dec. 16, 1999.
