Requesting A Carrier Safety Profile

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) provides carrier profiles where anyone can see a company’s safety rating. To get a carrier profile, send an email to CarrierProfileRequests@utc.wa.gov, or call (360) 664-1265.

In your email, include:

  • The name and email address of the person asking for the carrier profile.
  • The school district name (if any).
  • The carrier:
    • Name and Doing Business as Name (if they have one).
    • USDOT number.
    • Commission permit number. (The carrier can give you its permit number.)

Public School Requirement

The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) requires school districts to get a carrier profile report before contracting with a charter bus service (WAC 392-144-045). The report must show a satisfactory rating from the UTC.
