In accordance with the Walkways WAC 480-60-035, the UTC has jurisdiction over certain walkways located within rail yards. Walkways outside the boundaries of a rail yard are subject to the Department of Labor and Industries' jurisdiction, WAC 296-860.
UTC staff routinely inspects walkways every four years. Inspections are conducted more frequently based on inspection results and complaints.
