Energy Independence Act (EIA) Rulemaking - UE-190652

On October 4, 2019, the commission filed a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) with the Code Reviser and issued a notice of opportunity to comment (with attachment) on its draft rules addressing changes to WAC 480-109 to comply with new statutory requirements of RCW 19.285. Comments are due November 4, 2019, by 5 p.m.

On January 8, 2020, the commission filed a notice of joint workshop with the Department of Commerce to discuss defining low income and energy assistance needs. The workshop will be held at 9 a.m. on January 28, 2020, in the commission's Richard Hemstad Hearing Room, 621 Woodland Square Loop, SE, Lacey, Washington. (Agenda.)

On March 27, 2020, the commission filed a Proposed Rule Making (CR-102) with the Code Reviser (which will be published on April 15, 2020, at 20-08-081) and issued a notice of opportunity to comment on proposed rules and notice of rule adoption hearing (Draft RulesClean Version). The adoption hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. in the commission's Richard Hemstad Hearing Room, 621 Woodland Square Loop SE, Lacey, Washington. On May 27, 2020, the commission issued a notice canceling the June 2, 2020 adoption hearing.
