On November 18, 2014, the City of Woodinville (City) filed with the commission a petition seeking approval to reconstruct a highway-rail grade crossing, and install an inter-tie between a highway signal and a railroad crossing signal system at State Route 202 in the City of Woodinville, USDOT Crossing No. 091797E, Docket TR-143902 petition and USDOT Crossing No. 092050F, Docket TR-143903 petition.

On December 29, 2014, the commission received a letter on behalf of Eastside Community Rail and Ballard Terminal Railroad Company opposing the petitions.

The commission held a prehearing conference in both matters at 10:30 a.m., on March 19, 2015, at UTC headquarters, Olympia, Washington.

On March 23, 2015, the commission entered Order 01, Prehearing Conference Order and Order of Consolidation.  Order 01, among other things, schedules an evidentiary hearing in these matters for July 14 - 15, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., Richard Hemstad Building, 1300 S. Evergreen Park Drive S.W., Olympia, Washington.

On April 16, 2015, the commission issued a notice suspending the deadline for filing testimony in order to allow the parties additional time for alternative dispute resolution.  All other dates included in the procedural schedule remain unchanged.  A status report of the parties negotiations is due by May 19, 2015.

For questions regarding these petitions, you may contact staff lead Kathy Hunter at (360) 664-1257 or by email at khunter@utc.wa.gov.
