Waste Management of Washington, Inc. filed with the commission an
application for an extension of authority under Certificate G-237, standing in the name of Waste Management of Washington, Inc., d/b/a WM Healthcare Solutions of Washington, for authority to provide solid waste collection service consisting of bio-hazardous waste in the state of Washington.
The commission received two protests to the application, (1) on behalf of
Washington Refuse & Recycling Association, Rubatino Refuse Removal, Inc., Consolidated Disposal Services, Inc., Murrey's Disposal, Inc., and Pullman Disposal Service, Inc., and (2) on behalf of
Stericycle of Washington, Inc.
The commission held a
prehearing conference in this matter on April 10, 2012. A procedural schedule was adopted in
Order 01 - Prehearing Conference Order and then revised by
notice issued April 18. On May 10, 2012, the commission issued a
notice and extended the deadline for filing initial briefs and response briefs. On August 10, 2012, the commission issued another
notice revising the procedural schedule. Evidentiary hearings were held December 3 - 6, 2012. By
notice issued December 7, 2012, initial post-hearing brief are due January 18, 2012, and reply briefs by January 25, 2012.
On February 14, 2013, the commission entered
Order 07 - Initial Order Granting Application.
On July 10, 2013, the commission entered
Order 10 - Final Order.

petition for judicial review was filed in Thurston County Superior Court.
