​On April 3, 2014 Waste Control, Inc. (Waste Control) filed with the commission new Tariff No. 16 reflecting a general rate increase that would generate approximately $532,000 (15.4 percent) in additional revenue.  Waste Control proposes a general rate increase to recover increased disposal fees. The commission suspended this matter by Order 01.

The commission held a prehearing conference in this matter on April 30, 2014, and issued its prehearing conference order on May 2, 2014.

On June 18, 2014, the commission entered Order 04, Order Granting In Part/Denying In Part Expedited Motion For Extension of Time, Rescheduling Hearing.  Order 04 reschedules the hearing scheduled for August 6-7, 2014, to September 2-3, 2014. 

On August 28, 2014, commission staff filed an Agreed Request for continuance. The continuance was granted by notice the commission issued on August 29, 2014.  The notice reschedules the hearing for September 17,  2014, at 1:30 p.m., at commission headquarters.

The commission issued a notice on September 12, 2014, canceling the hearing and procedural schedule in this matter. The notice also set a deadline of October 13, 2014, for a settlement agreement and all supporting documentation to be submitted by.

On January 7, 2015, the commission entered Order 10, Order Denying Staff's Objection to and Motion to Strike Supplemental Testimony and Exhibits (Order 10).  Order 10 advised the parties that the commission's regulatory staff (Staff) and the Washington Refuse and Recycling Association (WRRA) would be given the opportunity to also file supplemental testimony.

The commission issued a notice on January 27, 2015, allowing supplemental testimony, if any, from Staff and WRRA due on February 2, 2015, and setting a hearing for the limited purpose of allowing the parties to cross-examine the witnesses who have filed supplemental testimony on March 11, 2015, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in Room 206, Richard Hemstad Building, 1300 S. Evergreen Park Drive S.W., Olympia, Washington.  Simultaneous reply briefs are due on March 27, 2015.

On June 8, 2015, the commission entered Order 12, Initial Order Rejecting Tariff Filing, Accepting Partial Settlement Agreement, and Authorizing Tariff Filing.  The Partial Settlement Agreement attached to Order 12 is available by clicking on the link.
