​On September 28, 2015, the commission entered Order 01, Notice of Emergency Adjudication and Order Suspending Certificate in Docket TE-151906.  The commission will file a complaint against Ride the Ducks of Seattle, LLC d/b/a Seattle Duck Tours (Ride the Ducks).  The complaint will allege that Ride the Ducks has operated at least one of its vehicles, Duck 6, in an unsafe manner resulting in at least five deaths and scores of injuries in a single incident occurring on September 24, 2015.  The commission mandates emergency suspension of the certificate held by Ride the Ducks' entire fleet of vehicles and drives.

On September 30, 2015, Ride the Ducks and Staff filed a Joint Stipulation.

The commission heard this matter on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., at UTC headquarters, Olympia, Washington.

On October 1, 2015, the commission entered Order 02, Order Adopting Joint Stipulation and Continuing Temporary Suspension of Certificate.  The commission conducted a status conference on November 3, 2015, and issued a notice requiring that Staff file its investigation report by December 15, 2015, and scheduled this matter for hearing.

On November 10, 2015, the commission entered Order 03, Order Rescheduling Evidentiary Hearing.  The commission reschedules the evidentiary hearing to Monday, December 21, 2015, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

On January 6, 2016, the commission issued a Notice of Prehearing Conference, setting the time and date as Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at UTC headquarters.

The commission entered a prehearing conference order on January 27, 2016, setting a procedural schedule. On May 3, 2016, the commission entered an order approving settlement agreement and cancelling evidentiary hearing.
