On August 30, 2012, Puget Sound Energy, Inc. (PSE) filed with the commission a Petition for Approval of a Power Purchase Agreement for Acquisition of Coal Transition Power, as Defined in RCW 80.80.010, and the Recovery of Related Acquisition Costs (Petition).  PSE requests that the commission issue an order approving the Coal Transition Power Purchase and Sale Agreement by and between TransAlta Centralia Generation LLC and PSE.

The commission held a prehearing conference in this matter on September 7, 2012, at UTC headquarters, Olympia, Washington.  At the prehearing conference the commission adopted a procedural schedule set forth in Appendix A in Order 02.

On December 10, 2012, the commission issued a notice continuing the evidentiary hearing in this matter by one day.  Hearing proceedings were held and concluded on December 12, 2012.

The commission issued a notice on December 11, 2012, relieving the parties from their obligation to file post-hearing briefs on January 11, 2013, and another notice on December 13, 2012, rescheduling oral argument.  In lieu of briefs, the commission heard oral argument on December 20, 2012.

On January 9, 2013, the commission entered its Order 03 - Final Order Granting Petition, Subject to Conditions.

On January 14, 2013, PSE requested, by letter, an order conference.  The commission did convene an order conference in this proceeding on January 16, 2013.

On January 22, 2013, PSE filed a Petition for Reconsideration.  The commission provided an opportunity of the parties to file an answer to the petition.  Order 05 extended the date for answers to March 15, 2013.  Order 05 also allowed for responses to Staff's Motion for Second Extension of Time to File Answers to PSE's Petition for Reconsideration and Motion to Reopen the Record by March 12, 2013.  The commission further extended the date for answers to March 27, 2013.

By Order 06, the commission now continues the deadline for parties to file answers to PSE's petition for reconsideration and motion to reopen the record to May 30, 2013.  The commission intends to take final action with respect to PSE's pending Petition for Reconsideration and Motion to Reopen the Record no later than June 28, 2013.

On June 25, 2013, the commission entered Order 07 - Rejecting Multiparty Settlement, and on the same day entered Order 08 - Order Granting, In Part, and Denying, In Part, Puget Sound Energy, Inc's, Petition for Reconsideration and Granting Motion to Reopen Record.
