​On April 8, 2013, Murrey's Disposal Company, Inc. (Murrey's) and its sister company, American Disposal Company, Inc. (together with Murrey's, Respondents), filed with the commission revisions to their tariffs.  Click here for Murrey's tariff revisions, and here for American Disposal's tariff revisions.  The revisions increase both companies' rates to recover higher costs for labor, employee benefits, fuel, parts, and equipment.  In total, the tariff revisions would generate approximately $2,287,000 (an 8.2 percent increase).  The commission suspended operation of Murrey's tariff, by Order 01, and American Disposal's tariff by Order 01.

The commission held a prehearing conference in both matters on May 20, 2013.

The commission, by Order 02, consolidated both dockets for hearing and order. Order 02 also provides a procedural schedule in the matter.  The commission issued a notice on July 11, 2013, canceling the status conference and granted a continuance to the procedural schedule.

On July 16, 2013, Murrey's Disposal Company, Inc. and American Disposal Company, Inc. filed a letter with the commission notifying the commission that the parties had reached a settlement in principle in these matters. The commission suspends the procedural schedule and gives notice that the parties must file a settlement agreement and supporting narratives by July 31, 2013.

On October 3, 2013 the commission entered its Final Order Approving and Adopting Settlement Agreement.
