Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission
On July 1, 2015, James and Clifford Courtney jointly filed with the commission a Petition for a Declaratory Order (Petition) as to the applicability of the certificate of public convenience and necessity requirement set forth in Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 81.84.010(1) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 480-51-025(2) to boat transportation service on Lake Chelan for customers or patrons of specific businesses or a group of businesses.
By notice issued July 2, 2015, all persons interested in this matter must submit either a statement of fact and law or a request to be placed upon the commission's service list in the event of further proceedings. All comments must be filed with the commission no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015.
On July 28, 2015, the commission issued a notice scheduling oral argument on the Petition for September 1, 2015. By notice issued August 12, 2015, the commission rescheduled oral argument for October 21, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., in the commission's hearing room, second floor, Richard Hemstad Building, 1300 S. Evergreen Park Drive S.W., Olympia, Washington.
The commission will render a determination on the Petition by Wednesday, December 2, 2015.
