On September 14, 2017, Hydro One Limited and Avista Corporation filed with the commission an application for an order quthorizing the acquisition of Avista by Hydro One.
On September 28, the commission issued a notice setting aside time for a prehearing conference to be held at 9:30 a.m., October 20, 2017, in the commission's hearing room, second floor, Richard Hemstad Building, 1300 S. Evergreen Park Drive SW, Olympia, Washington. All petitions to intervene will be addressed at this time.
The commission held an evidentiary hearing regarding a settlement agreement on May 22, 2018, and conducted public comment hearings in April and May.
On on July 11, 2018, when Hydro One issued a press
release announcing that Hydro One and the Province of Ontario “entered into an
agreement for the purpose of the orderly replacement of the board of directors
of Hydro One and Hydro One Inc. and the retirement of Mayo Schmidt as the chief
executive officer effective today.”
On July 12, the commission gave notice of its intent to condudct additional process, and on August 3, the commission issued a notice that it would hold an evidentiary hearing on October 23, 2018, in the commission's hearing room, second floor, Richard Hemstad Building, 1300 S. Evergreen Park Drive SW, Olympia, Washington.
On December 5, 2018, the commission entered Order 07, Final Order Denying Joint Application for Transfer of Property.
