Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission
On June 24, 2016, the commission opened a staff investigation regarding policy issues related to the implementation of RCW 80.28.360, electric vehicle supply equipment, and issued a Notice of Opportunity to File Written Comments. On September 13, 2016, the commission held a Recessed Open Meeting to discuss the matter with stakeholders.
On October 31, 2016, the commission filed with the Code Reviser a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) to further examine the issues raised in the investigation and to consider the adoption of a rule or policy statement to implement RCW 80.28.360. On November 2, 2016, the commission issued a Notice of Rulemaking and Notice of Opportunity to File Written Comments. The issues the commission is asking for comments on, and the options for submitting them, are in the notice. Written comments are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
On January 13, 2017, the commission issued a Notice of Opportunity to File Written Comments on the Draft Policy Statement entered in this docket. The questions the commission is requesting comments on are listed in the notice here, and the draft Policy Statement is available here. Comments are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017.
On June 14, 2017, the Commission issued its Policy and Interpretive Statement Concerning Commission Regulation of Electric Vehicle Charging Services.
