On August 10, 2018, Backcountry Travels LLC filed an application for certificate to operate as a commercial ferry service. On October 8, 2018, Lake Chelan Recreation, Inc. filed a protest, alleging the proposed service overlaps that being offered by Lake Chelan.
On October 29, 2018, the commission issued a notice of brief adjudicative proceeding. The commission planned to hear oral statements on December 5, 2018.
On October 30, the commission issued a notice cancelling the brief adjudicative proceeding and informing parties that it would soon set a time for a prehearing conference.
On November 5, 2018, the commission issued a notice of prehearing conference, which set time to confer with parties and hear petitions to intervene at 1:30 p.m., on November 19, 2018.
On November 21, 2018, the commission isssued Order 01, a prehearing conference order establishing the procedural schedule for this matter. Among other things, Order 01 scheduled a hearing to begin at 9:30 a.m., on April 22, 2019.
On March 22, 2019, the commission issued a notice of public comment hearing, and notice of hearing, relocating the April 22, 2019, hearing to Chelan. The public comment hearing will begin at 9 a.m., and the evidentiary hearing will begin at 1:30 p.m., in Campbell's Resort Ballroom, 104 W Woodin Ave, Chelan, Washington.
