Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission
On February 4, 2014, Avista Corporation d/b/a Avista Utilities (Avista) filed with the commission revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-28, Electric Service in Docket UE-140188 and revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-29, Gas Service in Docket UG-140189 designed to effect a general rate increase for electric and gas service. Avista requests an electric rate increase of $18.2 million, or 3.8 percent, and a gas rate increase of $12.1 million or 7.8 percent. The overall electric billed increase proposed by Avista is 5.5 percent, including the above 3.8 percent base rate increase, a Renewable Energy Credit Revenue Mechanism rebate of 1.1 percent, and the expiration of two rebates currently received by electric customers totaling a 2.8 percent billed revenue increase effective January 1, 2015.
The commission suspended operation of the tariffs and consolidated the dockets for hearing by Order 01 entered on February 14, 2014.
The commission held a prehearing conference in this matter on March 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at UTC headquarters, Olympia, Washington.
On March 10, 2014, the commission entered order 03 Prehearing Conference Order and Notice of Hearing in this matter.
On August 14, 2014, the commission issued a notice suspending the procedural schedule and setting a hearing date on the settlement proposal in this matter for September 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at UTC headquarters.
