Summary Less than Statutory notice request for Waste Management of Washington, Inc. d/b/a Waste Management – North Sound and Waste Management – Marysville, Tariff revisions that would generate approximately $1.4 million (3.89 percent) additional annual revenue to recover the increased cost of disposal fees set by the King County Council and the Snohomish County Council. On January 1, 2026, disposal fees will increase from $165.91 per ton to $179.18 per ton as reflected in Title 10 of the King County Solid Waste Code and increasing the fixed annual charge to WM from $37.92 to $42.55 per ton. On January 1, 2026, disposal fees will increase from $105.00 per ton to $149.00 per ton at the Snohomish County transfer stations. The Company also requests to retain up to 50 percent of the revenue received for the sale of recyclable commodities in accordance with the Revenue Sharing Plans with King County and Snohomish Count. In King County, commodity prices result in a $1.78 increase (credit decrease from $1.90 to $0.12) per month for residential recycling customers and changing proportionately per yard per month for multi-family recycling customers. In Snohomish County, commodity prices result in a $1.35 increase (credit decrease from $1.66 to $0.31) per month for residential recycling customers. The Company requests additional revisions that would generate approximately $245,500 (0.67 percent) additional annual revenue to recover the increased cost of increased B&O tax from 1.75 percent to 2.10 percent, plus a surcharge of 0.5%, that took effect October 1, 2025. The Company serves approximately 117,200 residential and 5,769 multi-family commercial and multi-family solid waste customers in King and Snohomish counties. The Company's last general rate increase became effective on November 1, 2024.
