Responsibilities of the Licensing Services Section include:
- determine if a company's business operations are subject to regulation by the UTC
- assist companies in the completion and filing of:
- application for operating authority
- proof of valid public liability and property damage insurance
- registration of interstate authority
- provide oversight ensuring that companies satisfy requirements of maintaining valid operating authority
- provide oversight ensuring that companies satisfy requirements of maintaining public liability and property damage insurance
- respond to public records requests, interpreting operating authorities and rules and policies
Responsibilities of the Motor Carrier Safety Section include:
- investigate complaints
- provide technical assistance to carriers
- conduct audits
- perform terminal and safety inspections for all transportation companies subject to regulation.
